The desire for human to control nature's force successfully has been the catalyst for progress throughout history. The goal has been to control these forces in order to assist in performing physical tasks which were beyond our own capabilities. During the 20th century, control system engineer has transformed many of our hopes and dreams into reality, and this serve as the foundation for greater advancement into the 21st century.

Mathematical modeling , simulation, nonlinear analysis, decision making, identification, estimation, diagnostics and optimization have become major mainstreams in control system engineering. The designer describes physical system dynamics in the form of differential equations, and the comprehensive analysis of complex dynamic systems is performed analytically or numberically solbing these equation.

The control of systems is an interdisciplinary subject and cuts across all specialized engineering fields. This is two-day introduction workshop focus on fundamental concepts and techniques for control system design and analysis. The aim is to present an overview of several important design techniques for linear control systems, varying from classical to “post-modern.” The emphasis is on ideas, methodology, results, and strong and weak points, not on proof techniques.
