Simon Thorne - Educating the minds of the future!

Simon Thorne has been teaching undergraduate and post graduate students now for 2 years at the University of Wales Cardiff, UK. Mr. Thorne is currently in his third year of a PhD in Information Systems and is a co-opted member of the European Spreadsheets Risk Interest Group (EuSpRIG), which deals with spreadsheet risk, methods of prevention and detection of errors and methods of limiting damage.

Mr. Thorne's research concern the use of spreadsheets for decision making in business and the impact of low quality End User Developed products on the integrity of such decisions. The focus of the research is providing novel solutions to improve quality in spreadsheets. This draws influence from subjects as diverse as: End User Development, Human Factors and Machine Learning.
