The field of digital image processing have growth tremendously, fueled by technological advancement in digital imaging, computational power and availablity of mass storage devices. Recently the research and development of image processing techniques have been advanced very rapidly.

Digital image processing primarily concern with the extraction of useful information from images, dealing with image representation, quality enhancement, image restoration and compression for ease of retrieval and efficient archiving. The workshop will cover various image processing algorithms, from it lowest level of pixel values manipulation through various image filtering methologies, image restoration and segmentation techniques.

Simulation is an essential tool in any filed related to engineering techniques. throughout this workshop, the image processing algorithms are simulated using MATLAB, the course leader will present numerous details examples and applications to illustrate the various concepts and techniques in digital image processing and its algorithms and methods.
